Olympian shooter Aishwary Tomar bettered the world record score while winning the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) public preliminaries in Bhopal on Monday. The 23-year-old Tomar, who was important for the Indian group that won 50m rifle 3 positions gold in the 2023 Big Showdowns, stepped his class with a 466.4 score in the last. The ongoing scene record on this occasion remains at 466.1. Tomar was addressing Madhya Pradesh in the public preliminaries.
Navyman Niraj Kumar was second, while Goldie Gurjar was third for his second consecutive platform finish in the preliminaries.
Tamil Nadu’s R Narmada Nithin won the ladies’ 10 meter air rifle preliminary. Narmada shot 251.8 to deny another nearby most-loved Ashi Chouksey, who came next for the second-day run. Rajasthan’s Nisha Kanwar was third.
Uttar Pradesh’s Neha conquered two prepared rivals to take the ladies’ 25m gun title on contest day three of the public rifle/gun choice preliminaries at the MP State Shooting Institute ranges.
